Using Nesting Dies to Make Shaker Cards | 6 Cards with LOTS of Tips & Tricks

Hi everyone!

Did you happen to catch my class during Scrapbook.com’s SBC Fest? During that class I shared some ways to use nesting dies to make shaker cards. If you missed the class, I’ll link it HERE.

I had so many shaker card ideas that I couldn’t fit them all into the SBC Fest class so I decided to make another video showing how I made the rest of my cards. So today I’m going to make a lot more shaker cards using nesting dies. I hope to provide you with lots of tips and tricks.

I used basic shape nesting dies such as rectangles, squares, hexagons, and hearts to make shaker cards.

I also used some not-so-basic shapes such as flowers, balloons, and even a Christmas Tree. 

I made shaped shaker cards like this flower shaped shaker card.

I also made a heart shaped shaker card.

I combined basic shapes such as squares and rectangles to form a grid shaker card.

And finally, I made a shaker card window in the front of a card panel like this balloon shaker card.

Card 1 – Flower Shaped Shaker Card

Card 2 – Christmas Tree Shaker Card

For this card, I used the A2 Precision Layering Dies and the Mini Slimline Precision Layering Dies to create various panels on my A2 size card. I used the ephemera from the Spellbinders February 2022 card kit to create a focal point for my card.

Card 3

I created a shaker card using the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 Dies.- Set A. I created a frame using two of the dies to create the shaker piece and used other layering dies from the set for the layers on my card.
