Get Your Sweet Summertime Crafting On With These Adorable Watermelon Cards! | Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends.

It’s release time again over at Pretty Pink Posh and this month’s theme is fruit! Pretty Pink Posh has released all kinds of fruit-themed stamps, dies, stencils, and confetti mixes. These products are perfect to kick-start your summer cardmaking.

Today I’m sharing four cards that I made using some of the watermelon themed products from this release. Watermelon cards are perfect year round, but I especially love them for the upcoming summer months. You can use them for friendship cards, thank you cards, and more!

Card 1 – Mini Scallop Cards

I stamped the images from the Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon stamp set onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens in the following colors —  Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Emerald Green, May Green, and the Blender. After I colored them, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

For the card base, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Mini Scallop Card die set. This die set makes a card base that is approximately 3 1/4” with a beautiful scallop border. There is beautiful stitching on the front and also comes with a stitched square layering die.

I die cut the stitched square layering die and added distress oxide inks in the following colors — Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio

I added my stamped images to the front of the cards. I used the sentiment stamps from the Watermelon stamp set. For one of the cards, I used the Friend Shadow die.

I just love these mini cards. They are perfect for sending a quick note to a friend, co-worker, or loved one.

Card 2

For my next card, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Watermelon stencil and inked the stencil on some mint green cardstock. I used inks from Scrapbook.com in the following colors: Havana Red, Succulent, and Black.

I cut my layer down to fit on an A2 size card. I created a cute little scene with the mice from the Pretty Pink Posh Mouse Friends stamp set. I colored the mice with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens in the following colors: Mustard and Sugared Almond Pink. I used the Blender to blend the colors.

I added watermelon slices from the Pretty Pink Posh Fruit Borders stamp set and I added the “friend” die cut from the Pretty Pink Posh Friend Shadow die. I adhered all of these images to an arch that I die cut from vellum using the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 dies. I chose to use vellum rather than regular cardstock because I didn’t want to hide the fun watermelon background that I stenciled. The vellum softens the background and will still allow you to see the background through it.
