Add Sparkle to Your Holiday Cards with Tim Holtz Distress Spritz in Exciting New Colors!

Hello Crafty Friends.

In today’s post, I’m excited to infuse some sparkle and shine into three festive holiday cards. I’ll be using the newest colors of Tim Holtz Distress Spritz to add shimmer and shine to my cards.

So what is Distress Spritz? Distress Spritz is a luminous spray that complements the Ranger Distress product line. The Spritz contains a blend of pearlized pigments in a clear fluid base and when sprayed on cardstock, it adds a beautiful shine.

Ranger Distress Spritz - Kitsch Flamingo, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio, Prize Ribbon

The picture above shows the following colors sprayed on both white and black cardstock — Kitsch Flamingo, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio, and Prize Ribbon. As you can see, they look great on both white and black cardstock! These are brand new colors to the Distress Spritz line. Tim Holtz just released these colors which you can purchase individually or as a bundle. You can get the bundle HERE.

A huge thank you to Scrapbook.com for sending me these new colors so that I can share them with you.

For my cards, I used Scrapbook.com’s Heavy Weight Mixed Media Paper Pad. The paper pad comes in white and black cardstock and is perfect for all kinds of mixed media projects.

Card 1

Distress Spritz Kitsch Flamingo - Wilted Violet - Prize Ribbon

For this card, I created a shimmery background by spraying the following Distress Spritz sprays onto the Scrapbook.com White Mixed Media Cardstock Kitsch Flamingo, Seedless Preserves, and Prize Ribbon. After drying the cardstock with my heat tool, I embossed the cardstock with the Spellbinders Flurry of Snowflakes Embossing Folder. I used sandpaper on top of the raised areas of the snowflakes to take off the top layer of cardstock to expose the white underneath. I love how the snowflakes pop off the cardstock. You can try this technique with any embossing folder.

Card 3

For this card, I inked white cardstock with Ranger Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio ink. Next, I added Ranger Distress Oxide Rustic Wilderness ink around the edges. After inking the cardstock, I used the Scrapbook.com Peppermint Forest Stencil and sprayed the Kitsch Flamingo Distress Spritz on the trees. This added a beautiful layer of shimmering Christmas trees to the cardstock.

The Distress Spritz can be used in conjunction with other products in the Distress line, like I did for this card where I added it to a layer of Distress Oxide ink. The Distress ink does not react like it typically would if water were sprayed onto the cardstock. This is a unique feature about the Distress Spritz – it just sits on top of the inked cardstock.
