2 Fall Cards | Fall Basket Cards

Hello crafty friends.

I’m sharing two autumn cards featuring a few new autumn-themed products from Pretty Pink Posh.

Pretty Pink Posh Fall Basket with Mouse Friends - Fall handmade card

Pretty Pink Posh Fall Basket and Layered Foliage - Fall handmade card with pumpkins and Leaves

If you would like to see how I made my cards, be sure to check out my video below or on YouTube.

For my first card, I started by creating my stenciled background. I cut a piece of cardstock to 3 1/2” x 4 3/4” and applied  Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink to Layer A of the Layered Apples Stencil. I applied the ink very lightly. Next, with Layer A still over my cardstock, I added a little more ink to the bottom of each apple which added some depth to the apples.

Next, I used Layer B of the Layered Apples Stencil which is used to add the leaves to the apples. I added Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink to the leaves. Next, I used Layer C of the Layered Apples Stencil along with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and added the stems.

The picture below shows what the Layered Apples Stencil looks like, however, the stenciled background in the picture is much darker than the one I created for my card. For my card, I used a much lighter hand when applying the ink because I wanted a lighter background that would not distract from the basket that I would eventually layer on top. If you want a darker look, just apply more pressure with more ink as shown.

Pretty Pink Posh Layered Apples Stencil

When my stencil layer was finished, I added it to a piece of red pattern paper that measures 3 5/8” x 4 7/8”. I added that layer to a piece of green patterned paper that measures 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.

Next, I stamped the sentiment “Many Thanks” from the Fall Envelopes Stamp Set onto white cardstock that measures 4 1/4” x 1/2” and added that to a piece of green pattern paper that measures 4 1/4” x 5/8”. I added the sentiment strip to the card front.

Next I was ready to work on my apple basket. After die cutting the Fall Basket, apples, and leaves, I assembled them on the card front.

As for my cute mouse friend, I colored him up with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens using Mustard, Sugared Almond Pink, and the Blender. I die cut the mouse with the coordinating dies and added it the card.

Finally, I added the panel to an A2 size card base.

Pretty Pink Posh Fall Basket with Mouse Friends - Fall handmade card

For my next card, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Foliage Stencil. I added a variety of fall colored inks to the stencil. I used the Gina K Designs Autumn Premium Dye Ink Cube Assortment which comes in a pack of 8 cube inks in a variety of fall colors.

Pretty Pink Posh Layered Foliage Stencil

I added a spatter of gold to my background using Delicata Golden Glitz ink mixed with water. I also added the Gina K. Designs Fresh Avocado ink to white cardstock and splattered some of the gold ink on the cardstock before die cutting the leaves from the Pretty Pink Posh Fall Basket die set. I die cut the pumpkins from the same die set using orange cardstock and added Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin ink to the edges to add some depth to the pumpkins.

Pretty Pink Posh Fall Basket and Layered Foliage - Fall handmade card with pumpkins and Leaves

I die cut a scallop circle from using the Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Circle dies. I inked the center circle with Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac ink and splattered some of the gold ink on top.

I added all of the die cut pieces to the card and added the sentiment “Happy Fall” from the Pretty Pink Posh Fall Envelopes stamp set. I added twine and then added this layer to an A2 size card base.

Distress Spray Stains – Autumn Cards

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I’m sharing two autumn cards using distress spray stains. Spray stains are such an easy way to get a lot of ink on your cardstock for creating backgrounds, die cutting, and more.  The distress spray stains come in all of the same colors as the distress inks, however, they are in a liquid spray.  I picked up several different colors and will be using some of them for my cards today.

Fall Card with Distress Spray Stains - Scrapbook.com Hi Fall Stamp - Scrapbook.com Autumn Breeze Stencil - Scrapbook.com Autumn Leaves Die

Watch my video on YouTube or below to see how I made my cards.

I started by adding several colors of the Distress Spray Stains to watercolor cardstock. Between applications, I dried the backgrounds and then added more ink. I love the look of the distress spray stains on the cardstock. It gives such depth and texture to the cardstock. Even though I used the same colors for each piece of cardstock, every background is different.

Distress Spray Stain Backgrounds for Fall or Autumn Cards

Next, I turned those backgrounds into cards. For the card below, I used one of the backgrounds with the Scrapbook.com Autumn Breeze stencil. I spritzed the stencil with water and added it to the inked background. The water moved the ink around on the cardstock, leaving the open area of the stencil without water which made those areas look darker so you can see the shape of the leaves and pumpkins. I used another background to die cut it with the Scrapbook.com Autumn Leave dies. I added a sentiment from the Scrapbook.com Hi Fall Stamp Set.

Fall Card with Distress Spray Stains - Scrapbook.com Hi Fall Stamp - Scrapbook.com Autumn Breeze Stencil - Scrapbook.com Autumn Leaves Die

For the card below, I added the leftover die cut leaves to a card to create the look of pattern paper and added a sentiment from the Scrapbook.com Hi Fall Stamp Set in the middle. I love the look of the die cut leaves against the white background. I think the white background really makes the leaves “pop”!

If you would like to see how I made my card, be sure to check out my video below or on YouTube.

For my card, I used the Mitten Shaker die set. I filled the shaker with the Peppermint clay confetti and the Winter Snowflakes clay confetti. I added the mittens to a snowflake stenciled background that I made with the Layered Snowflakes Stencil. I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Speckled Egg distress oxide inks on the stencil. I added the Winter Wishes Script die for the sentiment. I also added a snowflake die cut shape to the mitten and added a Ruby Red Pearl to the center.

My card measurements are as follows:

Snowflake Stenciled Background – 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Autumn Leaf Wreath Card | Pretty Pink Posh

Hello crafty friends.

I’m sharing an autumn card using the new Autumn Leaf Wreath stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.

Autumn Leaf Wreath Handmade Card - Pretty Pink Posh - Fall Wreath Card - Autumn Wreath Card - Coloring Autumn Leaves

If you would like to see how I made my card, be sure to check out my video below or on YouTube.

One thing I love about the fall season is the changing colors of the leaves and so I wanted the leaves in my wreath to have several fall colors in them. It was so easy to get a beautiful blend of fall colors by using only four colors of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The pens I used were red, orange, yellow, and mid green. These colors blended seamlessly. If there were any parts that needed a little extra blend, I used the blender marker to do that. The blender marker is simply a marker with a blending solution in it to help move the colors on your paper, however, a paint brush and water would work too. Once my coloring was complete, I die cut the wreath with the coordinating dies.

Next, I worked on my background. I cut a piece of cardstock to 4” x 5 1/4” and used the Trellis stencil along with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the sentiment “Fall Blessings” and then I added the wreath to the top portion of the stenciled card panel, popping it up with foam.

I added some twine around the bottom portion of the card panel and tied it in a bow. I added two additional larger leaves from the stamp set and I added an acorn image to the top of the bow. Next, I added some Pistachio Pearls to the wreath and to the card front.

Finally, I added the stenciled panel to a piece of brown cardstock that measures 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” and then added it to an A2 size card base.

Thank You Autumn Scene Card | Pretty Pink Posh

I love to make scene cards and today I’m sharing a thank you autumn scene card using several new products from the Pretty Pink Posh September release which is all about autumn. Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Card - thank you card - happy mail card - autumn scene card - fall envelopes - fall borders

When I first saw the Mouse Friends stamp set, I thought the mice would be so cute holding the big envelope from the Fall Envelopes stamp set. I love how the autumn leaves look like they are flying out of the envelope. Of course, an autumn card wouldn’t be complete without pumpkins so I used the pumpkin border from the Fall Borders stamp set and colored the pumpkins in various autumn colors.

If you would like to see how I made my card, be sure to check out my video below or on YouTube.

For this card, I started by coloring my images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The colors I used are listed below. Next, I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and used Distress Oxide inks to ink blend the background. I used Shabby Shutters ink on the lower inch of the cardstock. I used Tumbled Glass ink on the top.  Next, I assembled the stamped images onto my card panel. Finally, I added the card panel to an A2 size card base. Halloween Stenciled Cards | Pretty Pink Posh

Hello crafty friends.

Halloween cards are so much fun to make. I made two more cards using the Pretty Pink Posh Halloween release. For both of my cards, I’m using some of Pretty Pink Posh’s brand new Halloween layered stencils. I love using stencils because they make it so easy to add a fun background to a card by just adding some ink.

For my first card, I created a cute Halloween scene using the Layered Ghosts Stencil.

Pretty Pink Posh - Halloween Card - Layered Ghosts Stencil, Halloween Critters, Distress Oxide Background

For my second card, I used the Layered Pumpkins stencil.

Pretty Pink Posh Layered Pumpkins Stencil, Halloween Critters

If you would like to see how I made my cards, you can watch my video here.

Halloween Card - Pretty Pink Posh Layered Ghosts Stencil, Halloween Critters

For my first card, I started by coloring the mummy bear image from the Halloween Critters stamp set.  I colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The colors I used are as follows:

–Bandages – Gray, Light Gray, Blender
–Body – Brown, Blender
–Nose – Black
–Inside Ear – Beige
–Pumpkin – Orange, Bright Yellow

I also colored some of the images from the Halloween Envelopes stamp set, specifically, the candy and a spider. The colors I used are as follows:

–Jelly Bean – Carmine Red, Blender
–Candy Corn – Bright Yellow, Orange, Light Gray
–Candy – Violet
–Spider – Black, Blender

For my background, I cut a piece of cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I added Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink to the bottom inch of the cardstock which will represent the grass for my Halloween scene. Next, I added Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink all over the remaining background. Finally, I added Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink around the edges.

After I inked the entire background, I was ready to do some stenciling. The stencil I used is the Layered Ghosts Stencil. I placed Stencil A over the background. This stencil is the one with the shape of the ghosts. I wanted a very subtle ghost background so I added a white pigment ink to the ghosts. Next, I placed Stencil B on the background. This stencil contains ghost faces and I added them with a black ink. Finally, I added Stencil C which contains the stars. I used Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze in Daffodil Yellow along with a palette knife to add the glaze. The glaze not only made the stars bright yellow, but it also added some dimension to my background which I love!

After my background dried,  I stamped the fence from the Halloween Borders stamp set onto the green grassy portion of the card layer using a black ink. I added my critter from the Halloween Critters stamp set, some candy from the Halloween Envelopes stamp set, and the word “boo” from the Boo Script die set.

Finally, I added this layer to a piece of a black cardstock that I cut to 4 ¼ x 5 1/2” and then added it to an A2 card base which is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Pretty. Pink Posh. Halloween Card - Layered Pumpkins - Halloween Critters

For my second card, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Pumpkins Stencil and inked it up with Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Mowed Lawn, Antique Linen, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. I added the panel to piece of gray cardstock cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

I colored the cute Halloween cat from the Pretty Pink Posh Halloween Critters stamp set. I colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens in the following colors:

–Cat – Beige, Brown, Blender
–Pumpkin – Orange, Blender, Bright Yellow, Mustard
–Cape, Mask – Gray, Light Gray

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Easter Circle dies to cut the green die cut behind the cat and used the Pretty Pink Posh Strip die set to cut the gray stitched strips.

Halloween Shaker Cards | Pretty Pink Posh

Hello crafty friends.

Shaker cards are some of my favorite cards to make, and I’m so excited to share some Halloween shaker cards that I made using some new products from Pretty Pink Posh!

Halloween Shaker Cards - Pretty Pink Posh - Spider Web Shaker Card - Cauldron Shaker Card

Pretty Pink Posh released some amazing Halloween stamps, dies, and stencils. Be sure to check out the entire release in my video below.

My cards are part of a Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop where you have a chance to win a $30 gift certificate to their shop. For more information, check out my Instagram post on my Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/lisamearsdesigns/.

If you would like to see how I made my cards, then watch my video here.

My first card features the Spider Web Die Set, Ghosts Friends Stamp Set, and Boo Script Die Set.

Halloween Card - Pretty Pink Posh - Spider Web Shaker Card

For the card background, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I inked the cardstock with Distress Oxide inks. I used Twisted Citron in the center, followed by Mowed Lawn, and then Rustic Wilderness along the outside edges.  Next, I mixed some black acrylic paint with water to thin it out and then flicked some of the paint onto the background. I set this aside to dry.

Next, I stamped the ghosts from the Ghost Friends stamp set onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored the ghosts with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. The colors I used are as follows:

Ghosts – Light Gray/Blender (body), Sugar Almond Pink (cheeks)

Hat – Deep Violet, Violet, English Lavender

Hat Stripe – Orange, Blender

Pumpkin – Orange, Blender

Broom – Beige, Gray, Blender

Lollypop – Sugar Almond Pink, Peach Pink

Bow – Violet, English Lavender

Bow – Peach Pink, Blender

I die cut the Spider Web die set with double-sided adhesive foam. I placed the spider web foam piece in the center of the card layer making sure to add two ghosts slightly behind the spider web foam piece before fully adhering it to the card.

I also die cut the spider web with black cardstock and glued it to a piece of acetate. I cut the acetate along the outside edges of the black spider web until all of the excess acetate was removed from the spider web. I set this piece aside and then filled the spider web foam piece with the Spooky Night Clay Confetti and the Monster Mash Clay Confetti. Once the spider web was filled with confetti, I glued the black spider web acetate piece to the top of the spider web foam piece to enclose all of the shaker pieces. Be sure to watch my video to see this process in action.

I added die cut the spider from the die that comes with the spider web die and colored it with Violet and English Lavender Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I added the spider to the center of the web.

I added the sentiment “boo” from the Boo Script die set and then added this card layer to a piece of black cardstock that measures 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I added the final layer to an A2 size card base.

My next card features the Cauldron Shaker Die Set, Layered Candy Corn Stencil, and the Scalloped Circle Die Set.

Halloween Card - Cauldron Shaker Card - Pretty Pink Posh

I started by creating the candy corn background for my card. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and used the Layered Candy Corn Stencil with the following inks: Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink, Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink, and Scrapbook.com Fog ink.

Next, I cut a Scallop Circle die from orange and white cardstock. I used the orange scallop frame and the white inside piece for the circle on my card.

I used the Cauldron Shaker die and made a shaker for the centerpiece of my card. Be sure to watch my video to see how I made the cauldron shaker!

I added the Halloween Party Clay Confetti to the inside of the cauldron. The confetti pieces are so much fun with pieces that look like real candy! My favorites are the ones that look like real candy corn! I glued some of the confetti pieces above the cauldron so it would look like the pieces are boiling out of it.

I used a sentiment from the Halloween Envelopes stamp set and die cut it with the banner die from the coordinating die set. I tied twine around the lower portion of the card layer and then added it to an A2 size orange card base.

Simon Says Stamp - Let's Get Away - Beach Scene Card with Distress Oxide Inks

Watch a step-by-step tutorial here.

The background was so much fun to make. I used Distress Oxide inks to create this fun beach background. I stamped the ocean stamp with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and then inked on top of it with Peacock Feathers and Broken China. I used Antique Linen for the sand. Next, I added Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled Glass for the sky.

I splattered on Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the sand. Finally, I added dots with a white gel pen to the tops of the waves to replicate sea foam.
