Valentine’s Day Card Using Squirrels2Love from The Stamps of Life

Hello! Here’s another Valentine’s Day card that I made using products from The Stamps of Life. I just love their stamps and these cute squirrels are no exception!

I die cut the card base from the Sizzix Regal Stand-Ups Card Die Set using strawberry card stock from The Stamps of Life. Next, I die cut the front panel and bottom panels as shown using the patterned paper from the Sweetheart collection.

Stephanie, the owner of The Stamps of Life, does an awesome job showing us how to put the card base together. (Click here for directions: Sizzix Regal Stand-Ups Card Die Set Instructions)

Using the Squirrels2Love stamp set, I stamped the images using Lawn Fawn’s Premium Jet Black Ink Pad, colored them with Spectrum Noir markers, and then die cut the images using the corresponding die set, Squirrels2Love Dies.

The boy squirrel is holding flowers in his hand, but I decided to cover the flowers with hearts to make it look like heart-shaped balloons for Valentine’s Day. I die cut the hearts from the Jar2Stamp Dies using the same patterned paper from the Sweetheart collection as I used for the layering pieces of the card base. Once the three hearts were die cut, I adhered them on top of the original flowers from die cut stamped image.

The heart border and the “Love You” dies are from the Sizzix Heart Step-Ups Card Die Set. Using the same strawberry card stock as the card base, I die cut the heart border and and the shadow layer for the “Love You” die cut. The pink card stock for the words “Love You” are from the same pink paper as was used for the heart balloon. I do want to add that I put tape adhesive on the card stock before running it through the die cut machine to make it easier to adhere to the card.

Here is the same card using different Valentine’s papers that I had in my stash.
