Step Up Your Stenciling | Easy Birthday Card with Scrapbook.com

Hi Crafty Friends!

Scrapbook.com is having a BIRTHDAY BASH all week long. Join me and Scrapbook.com to inspire YOU to start making your birthday projects for the year now! Every day this week, SBC’s YouTube channel will feature a new video showing a different birthday technique.

Today I’m on the Scrapbook.com YouTube channel where I made this quick and easy birthday card using some stepped up stenciling techniques with products from Scrapbook.com.

Watch my video on YouTube or below to see how I made my card.

I started with a piece of Scrapbook.com Neenah Solar White cardstock that I cut to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.  I added the following Scrapbook.com ink colors to the white cardstock – Glass Slipper, Pink Flamingo, Parisian Purple, and Pink Lemonade.  These colors are all the lighter colors in their color families. Make sure you add the lighter color first because later on you will be adding the darker color in the same color family over the starburst design on the stencil.

After applying ink to the white cardstock, I added the first layer of the Scrapbook.com Starburst Night Sky stencil overtop of the inked background and then added darker inks from the same color family to the starburst designs. The inks I used are the Scrapbook.com Confetti Pink, Lagoon Blue, Havana Red, and Mardi Gras. This gives a beautiful tone-on-tone effect.

Next, I added the second layer of the Starburst Night Sky stencil over top of the cardstock. This is the layer with the stars.  I added the Scrapbook.com Glitter Gold Pops of Color to cover the stars on the stencil. I set the cardstock aside to dry. This adds a beautiful glittery sparkle to the stars.

Next, I added three word dies from the Scrapbook.com Celebration Party Sentiments which I die cut from the Spellbinders Gold Mirror Cardstock.
