Watercolor Cards with Spellbinders Club Kits – January 2023

Hello Crafty Friends.

Today I’m sharing two watercolor cards that I made using the Spellbinders Clear Stamp/Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, and 3D Embossing Folder of the Month for January 2023.

If you would like to see these club kits up close and how I made my cards, watch my video on YouTube or below.

Card 1

For Card 1, I used the Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month called Floral Archway and embossed a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I wanted to make all of the beautiful flowers “pop” on the cardstock so I decided to color all of the embossed images. The Bristol Smooth Cardstock is the cardstock that I like to use when watercoloring because it blends the watercolors so well. After embossing the cardstock, I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens along with an Arteza water brush pen to color all of the beautiful florals embossed on the cardstock. You can find a list of the colors I used in the supplies section below. I used the largest rectangle die from the Spellbinders A2 Precision Layering die set to die cut a rectangle from the embossed background.

I die cut the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month called Sentimental Ampersand from gold mirror cardstock and added it the the card. I also die cut the flowers from this die set with Bristol Smooth Cardstock and watercolored them as well and added them to the ampersand.

Finally, I cut a piece of gold mirror cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to layer underneath the floral background and then added the entire layer to an A2 size card base.

Card 2

For Card 2, I used the Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month and embossed a purple piece of 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ metallic cardstock. I love the look of the embossed design on the metallic cardstock. It looks so classy.

Next I stamped the Spellbinders Clear Stamp of the Month called Hydrangea Bouquet and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The colors I used are listed in the Supplies section below. I die cut the stamp and sentiment with the coordinating dies. I added the card layer to an A2 size card base.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Lisa
